[Complications of surgery of the rectum]

The immediate and late postoperative complications of surgery for rectal neoplasia have been examined. Both general complications and those arising out of specific techniques are discussed. The personal series involves 110 cases of rectal cancer operated at the Siena Cepartment of Surgical Pathology.
