    Background:

    • Learning a new task involves both generalizable skills and task-specific knowledge.
    • Interocular transfer, the ability to learn a task with one eye and perform it with the other, is a key measure of learning components.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the extent to which general and specific learning components transfer between eyes (interocularly).
    • To determine how prior training on different tasks affects interocular transfer of pattern discrimination.

    Main Methods:

    • Two experiments using albino rats trained on pattern discrimination and black-white tasks.
    • Manipulating prior training conditions (ipsi-ocular, contra-ocular, binocular) to assess interocular savings.
