Enhancement of retinal fluorescein biomicroscopy

We constructed an optical bench model of the American Optical slit lamp to test effectiveness of several filters to enhance visualization of fluorescein. The filters varied considerably in light transmission. This variability of light transmission correlated well with the application of the filters in clinical practice.
