    Background:

    • Bromosulfophthalein (BSP) is a compound used for liver function tests.
    • Accurate labeling of BSP with radioisotopes is crucial for diagnostic imaging.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To develop and validate a rapid and simple method for labeling BSP with iodine-131 (131I).
    • To assess the efficiency and accuracy of the radiolabeled BSP for scintigraphic studies.

    Main Methods:

    • BSP was labeled with 131I utilizing the Greenwood and Hunter method.
    • Chromatoelectrophoresis was employed to determine labeling efficiency.
    • Scintigraphic studies were conducted to evaluate the distribution of the labeled compound.

    Main Results:

    • The Greenwood and Hunter method proved to be rapid and simple for BSP labeling.
    • Chromatoelectrophoresis confirmed a 100% labeling efficiency.
    • Scintigraphic studies yielded results consistent with established radioactive BSP distribution patterns.

    Conclusions:

    • The developed 131I-BSP labeling method is highly efficient and accurate.
    • This technique is suitable for use in scintigraphic studies for assessing BSP distribution.
    • The method offers a reliable approach for radiolabeling BSP in nuclear medicine applications.
