A case of impalement with extensive rectal lesion is reported. The "distal wash-out" method using the antiseptic PVP-Iodine was used. The treatment is described. Referring to the beneficial effect of the antiseptic on bacterial peritonitis this additional treatment is recommended for further clinical application.
