    Area of Science:

    • Neurology
    • Pathology
    • Genetics

    Background:

    • Tuberous sclerosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow in various organs, including the brain.
    • Intraventricular aneurysms are rare vascular malformations within the brain's ventricles.

    Observation:

    • An autopsy was performed on a 26-year-old woman diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis.
    • An aneurysm was identified within the right lateral ventricle.

    Findings:

    • This case represents the first documented instance of an intraventricular aneurysm associated with tuberous sclerosis.
    • The aneurysm's location within the ventricle is a significant pathological finding.

    Implications:

    • This finding may suggest a potential link between tuberous sclerosis and the development of intraventricular aneurysms.
    • Further research is warranted to explore the underlying mechanisms and clinical significance of this association.
    • This case highlights the importance of considering rare vascular complications in patients with tuberous sclerosis.
