    Summary

    Severe intracranial hypertension and papilloedema can lead to a new type of haemorrhagic peripheral retinopathy. This condition may be caused by venous occlusion due to severe disc swelling.

    Background:

    • It highlights a potential mechanism linking optic disc edema to peripheral retinal hemorrhages.
