Background:

Actinic reticuloid is a rare photosensitive dermatosis.
Its pathogenesis and clinical presentation require further elucidation.

Observation:

Four cases of actinic reticuloid are presented, notably the first reported in a female patient.
Clinical and histological features were evaluated, alongside phototesting results.

Findings:

Not all patients exhibited persistent light reactivity.
Histological presentations varied significantly, sometimes mimicking cutaneous lymphoma.
Phototesting implicated long-wave ultraviolet (UV) and/or visible light.

Implications:

Actinic reticuloid may be a benign condition, classifiable as a cutaneous pseudomalignancy.
Further research into T-lymphocyte interactions is warranted to understand its pathogenesis.
