Congenital third nerve palsy with amblyopia of the contralateral eye

A child with congenital third nerve palsy using the palsied eye for fixation is presented. Apparently, amblyopia developed in the secondarily deviating eye. This is the first case report of which we are aware with such a disturbance, ie, primary ocular motor palsy in one eye and sensory amblyopia in the other.
