    Summary

    Infrared (IR) spectroscopy identified a unique 1150 cm-1 band in hyaluronic acid (HA) and protein-chondroitin-keratan sulfate (PChKS), absent in pure heparin fractions (H-3, H-4). This aids in detecting proteoglycan impurities in heparin preparations.
