Abstract:
Fractures of the scaphoid have been categorized into nondisplaced, angulated, and displaced injuries on the basis of their acute roentgenograms. The treatment of the nondisplaced fracture is cast immobilization in slight radial deviation and neutral flexion; for the angulated fracture, maximum radial deviation in neutral flexion; and for the displaced fracture, early operative fixation.
