[The transabdominal cerclage according to Ardillo. A case report (author's transl)]

The trans-abdominal cerclage of the cervix according the Ardillo was carried out in three patients from 1970-1976. When large tissue defects following conebiopsies of amputations of the cervix make it impossible to be successful with a vaginal cerclage of the cervix the trans-abdominal cerclage according to Ardillo is a successful method to prolong the pregnancy to viability of the infant. The three successful cases are described.
