Hyperinfection with Strongyloides stercoralis. A report of 3 cases
Abstract:
Three patients with chronic diarrhoea, paralytic ileus and malabsorption are reported. At postmortem examination Strongyloides stercoralis was shown to be the aetiological agent in each case. Factors involved in hyperinfection with Strongyloides are discussed and the means of clinical recognition of this syndrome are emphasized.
