Leiomyoma of the vagina

Abstract:
Eight cases of leiomyoma of the vagina are described. Most were diagnosed clinically as lesions other than leiomyomas, and the correct diagnosis was made only after histological examination. The tumours were most commonly situated on the anterior wall of the vagina, varied from 1 to 3 cm in diameter, and were all treated by simple excision. No recurrence was recorded in a follow-up period that varied from 8 months to 20 years.
