Computed tomography in the evaluation of patients with surgical clips

Computed body tomography has proved to be a useful imaging modality in the follow-up study of patients with known malignant conditions undergoing therapy. While technologic improvements have made the number of artifacts few in number, a significant problem still exists from the streak artifacts emanating from surgical clips which degrade the image.
