[The use of a wire strain-gauge for experimental stress analysis of bones]

The tension under sagittal and frontal bend was measured experimentally by means of a wire strain gauge in isolated corpse tibiae. The findings were compared with a mathematically analytical method. The agreement of both methods was placed in the statistical confidence range. The analysis of tension in bone can carry out therefore with the wire strain gauge technique in an authentic manner.
