[The Charnley hip arthrodesis with cross plates, its advantages and effectiveness]

Hip arthrodesis ad modum Matzen consists of cylindrical preparation of the head of the femur and of the acetabulum according to Charnley plus stabilisation by a cross plate after M. Müller. 150 patients underwent this procedure with good results.
