    Summary

    Post-operative convulsions after carotid endarterectomy are a rare complication. These seizures may result from cerebral emboli originating from the surgical site, even in patients with stable pre-operative neurological status.

    • Further investigation into the mechanisms of post-operative embolization is warranted.
    • Patient selection and monitoring may need refinement to mitigate this risk.
