Abstract:
A 21-year-old patient was struck by the pulse of a rangefinder laser (infrared laser). The massive pathologic changes on his macula are explained by the focusing effect of the refractive media. Secure location of the beam, the avoidance of reflective surfaces and absorbing screens are recommended as protective measures.
