Toxicological analysis of benzodiazepine-type compounds in post-mortem blood by gas chromatography

Analytical methodology has been reviewed and investigated to present a rapid method for a qualitative screening and quantitation of a number of benzodiazepine compounds and metabolites. The procedure requires only one millilitre of blood for analysis by gas chromatography (ec). An optional step is included in order to confirm the identity of the compounds by formation of the benzophenone product. Qualitative and quantitative data of the benzodiazepines and related compounds are included.
