Exchange transfusion for sickle cell intrahepatic cholestasis

Background:

• Serum bilirubin levels decreased significantly, from 146 mg/dL to 16 mg/dL within six days.

• Partial blood-plasma exchange transfusion may represent a valuable therapeutic option for managing SCIH.
• This treatment approach could potentially improve survival rates in patients with this critical condition.
