    Summary

    Mammographic patterns indicating breast cancer risk appear to be familial. Similarities in mammograms were stronger between relatives than unrelated individuals, suggesting a genetic link in these risk patterns.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate whether mammographic patterns associated with breast cancer risk exhibit familial aggregation.

    • Comparison of mammograms from 110 mother-daughter pairs and 122 sister pairs against age- and history-matched unrelated controls.
