Treating the untreatables: a group experience with somaticizing borderline patients

This paper reports on a two year experience with patients suffering from chronic somatic symptoms treated in group psychotherapy. Excerpts from the group process are presented to highlight the borderline characteristics of this patient population. Technical consideration and the rationale for using this treatment modality are discussed.
