    • Pattern A behavior is hypothesized to either benefit or impede an individual's work quality.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the relationship between Pattern A behavior and scientific merit.
    • To determine if Pattern A behavior aids or hinders the production of meritorious work.

    Main Methods:

    • Male members of the Society of Experimental Social Psychologists were assessed for Pattern A behavior.
    • Citation scores were collected for each participant from 1973-1975 using the Social Science Index.
