[Electrocardiographic study of R-R intervals in patients with chronic alcoholism]

A simple technique to evaluate the cardiac aspects of autonomic neuropathy in chronic alcoholics is presented. Electrocardiograms of 37 alcoholics and 15 controls were recorded. Statistical analysis determining the variations between R-R intervals was carried out, showing a notable difference between chronic alcoholics and the controls.
