Abstract:
Report about the results of 170 reduction mammoplasties of which 40 were operated by the Strömbeck technique and 130 by a technique described by the authors of this report. The most frequent complication was blood loss. Using our operation technique we have observed only 4 partial necrosis (1,2%) of the areola, but no complete slough. The results of a questionnaire action confirmed the objective findings that reduction of a breast exceeding 600 ccm has to be considered a medical indication.
