A new method of one-stage revascularization of the visceral arteries. Experience with 25 operations
Abstract:
In presence of different variants of the associated lesions of the visceral and renal arteries and occlusive process limited to the proximal segment, one-stage correction of the blood flow should be tried. This task is relatively easily solved by a method of one-stage transaortic endarterectomy, which essentially consists of the longitudinal dissection of the aortic lumen along the posterior-lateral surface and removal of the changed intima and plaques from the aorta and affected arteries en bloc. This method was used in 25 cases with atherosclerosis (13) and sclerotic stage of the non-specific aorto-arteritis (12). Reconstruction of different segments of the abdominal aorta and endarterectomy was done in 18 cases. Clinical effect was seen in 22 (88%) operated patients. Three patients died from acute cardiovascular insufficiency.
