[Thyroglossal duct fistulae: congenital or iatrogenic? (author's transl)]
Abstract:
Clinical observations demonstrate that thyroglossal fistulae very often arise following surgical interventions. Fistulae especially appeared after incisions, punctures, enucleations or radiation therapy of a median cyst. These types of treatment should be avoided, the radical removal of thyroglossal abnormality being the only rational procedure. General clinical findings are reported in tabulated statements.
