    Area of Science:

    • Gastroenterology
    • Surgical Innovation
    • Clinical Management

    Background:

    • Acute noncalculous cholecystitis presents diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.
    • Understanding its varied clinical manifestations is crucial for effective patient care.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To share experience in managing 89 patients with acute noncalculous cholecystitis.
    • To evaluate diagnostic methods and treatment outcomes for this condition.

    Main Methods:

    • Clinical observation and echography for diagnosis.
    • Conservative therapy for selected cases.
    • Surgical intervention (cholecystectomy) for persistent or deteriorating conditions.

    Main Results:

    • Conservative therapy succeeded in 28 patients.

    Related Experiment Videos

  • 61 patients underwent cholecystectomy due to persistent symptoms or deterioration.
  • Intraoperative cholangiography identified stenosing papillitis in 12 cases, treated successfully.
  • Percutaneous transhepatic cholecystectomy was effective in high-risk elderly patients.
  • Conclusions:

    • Acute noncalculous cholecystitis requires a tailored treatment approach.
    • Surgical intervention is often necessary, with good outcomes reported.
    • Minimally invasive techniques and adjunct therapies show promise in specific patient groups.
