The random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method showed limited success in detecting genetic variation in Finnish cattle and sheep breeds. While more polymorphic markers were found in sheep, both species exhibited high genetic homogeneity, with cattle breeds showing no significant differentiation.
