A lip burn as a consequence of laser laryngeal surgery

Abstract:
Ignition and subsequent combustion of a gum guard, during laser surgery for tracheal stenosis, resulted in a superficial burn to the lower lip. We present a case report and discuss measures that can be taken to avoid such a complication.
