Researchers discovered a new cell adhesion structure, peripheral adhesions, in Rous sarcoma virus-transformed fibroblasts. These structures, distinct from focal adhesions and podosomes, involve integrins and may play a role in cell adhesion for cells with poor stress fiber organization.
