Summary

Phospholipase C-beta 1 (PLC-beta 1) in rat brain is produced from a single gene through alternative RNA splicing, resulting in two distinct protein isoforms (PLC-beta 1a and PLC-beta 1b). These isoforms, differing in carboxyl-terminal sequences, are expressed in brain and glioma cells.
