Summary

Endothelial cells use proteases like urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) for matrix degradation and cell migration in angiogenesis. Their activity is tightly regulated by plasminogen activators inhibitors (PAI) to prevent thrombosis and hemorrhage.
