Abstract:
The terminals of rotundal fibers labelled with Phaseolus Lectin anterograde tracer were studied in ectostriatum periphericum and neostriatum intermedium laterale with EM. These terminals belong to the fibers which cross the ectostriatum centrale before they enter the ectostriatum periphericum and neostriatum intermedium laterale. These terminals establish synapses with dendrites, spines and also with GABA immunogold stained somata. The EM results prove the connections of ectostriatum periphericum and neostriatum intermedium laterale with the visual system.
