Epidemiology in action. Participants of the Liverpool Epidemiology Programme

An outline is given of some international schemes aimed at strengthening epidemiological capabilities. Particular reference is made to the Liverpool Epidemiology Programme, dedicated to the exchange of ideas between trainers and health workers. Its activities have resulted in an expanding worldwide network of support for the development of training programmes and materials.
