    Summary

    Comparing speech and pure-tone audiometry, the pure-tone air-bone gap better identifies conductive hearing loss than the speech air-bone gap. Further research is needed before relying solely on speech audiometry for this diagnosis.

    Background:

    • Further research with larger datasets is recommended to refine the use of speech audiometry in diagnosing hearing loss.
