Abstract:
In an effort to increase clinicians' confidence and competence in addressing attitudes of those adults who stutter, the following explores the nature of attitudes, attitudinal domains meriting consideration throughout the therapy process, and assessment issues. Included in this discussion are the results of a series of studies that examined communication attitudes and profiles of adults. Finally, some thoughts on intervention and specific research needs are presented.
