Case report: brucella osteomyelitis--a difficult diagnosis
1Royal Naval Hospital, Haslar.
Abstract:
The patient in this case report was probably infected by ingesting unpasteurised milk from a non-immunised dairy herd. The initial infection which probably occurred some 10 years prior to presentation, was evident only by night sweats. A high index of suspicion must be maintained in patients complaining on non-specific symptoms who are or have been at occupational risk, or have travelled in endemic areas of the world.
