To evaluate the efficacy and safety of using the appendix vermiformis in urological procedures.
To assess the outcomes of Mitrofanoff's procedure, MAINZ pouch technique, and continent appendicocolostomy.
To determine the feasibility of clean intermittent catheterization via appendicostomy for neuropathic bladder.

Summary:

Twelve patients with neuropathic bladder underwent Mitrofanoff's procedure (continent appendicovesicostomy).
Postoperative complications included one case of ischemic occlusion of the appendicostomy.
All but one patient successfully practiced clean intermittent catheterization, with 67% achieving day and night continence.
