Background:

  • Cerebral ischemia, or stroke, is a major cause of disability and mortality.
  • Habitual snoring is a common condition, often associated with sleep apnea, but its independent association with stroke requires further investigation.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between habitual snoring and the risk of ischemic stroke.
  • To determine if habitual snoring is an independent risk factor for stroke, even after adjusting for known confounding factors.

  • A case-control study was conducted with 133 patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke and 133 matched controls.
