1Department of Surgery, University of Montreal, Canada.
Abstract:
Upper Esophageal Sphincter (UES) dysfunction is difficult to evaluate and quantitate. Results of treatment are influenced by the etiology and extent of damage responsible for the dysfunction. Classification and approach to the patient with oropharyngeal dysphagia are described. Results of surgical therapy for this functional dysphagia are discussed.
