Radiologic findings in persistent thyroglossal tract fistulas

• Histological examination of surgical specimens confirmed retained upper portions of the thyroglossal tract as the cause of recurrence.
• Complete excision of the thyroglossal tract up to the foramen cecum is essential for successful treatment.
