Summary

Low-flow anesthesia techniques are safe and do not increase carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) levels during general anesthesia. This study found no dangerously high COHb in patients, suggesting low-flow anesthesia protects against carbon monoxide generation by preserving absorbent moisture.
