    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the incidence of endometrial cancer in relation to estrogen prescriptions.
    • To quantify the risk of endometrial cancer among estrogen users versus nonusers.
    • To assess the impact of estrogen discontinuation on cancer incidence rates.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective cohort study in a Seattle prepaid group practice (July 1975 - July 1977).
    • Analysis of endometrial cancer incidence rates stratified by estrogen use status.
    • Estimation of annual risk for endometrial cancer in women aged 50-64 with intact uteri.
