[The typology of postsuicidal posthypoxic encephalopathies]

A group of young patients (n = 324)) with posthypoxic encephalopathy developed after suicidal attempts through hanging himself/herself were subjected to clinical and experimental psychological examination, using Wechsler standardized tests (intelligence scales). All examines manifested varying degree deterioration of intellect, with reference to which a new classification of posthypoxic encephalopathy is suggested.
