Background:

  • Hemodynamic correction (CHIVA) is a conservative, ambulatory varicose vein treatment.
  • It involves selective ligation of the superficial venous system based on preoperative duplex mapping.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To prospectively evaluate the CHIVA technique in 80 patients.
  • Mean follow-up was 30 months.

  • Initial 55 patients underwent CHIVA after clinical, ultrasonographic, ambulatory venous pressure, and light reflection rheography.
  • A subsequent 25 patients were evaluated after 3 years, with exclusion criteria applied and intraoperative angioscopy used.
