Abstract:
The family anxiously waits to see the patient who has just been admitted to the critical care unit. Your attention and energy are tightly focused on meeting the patient's emergent needs. However, the family, too, has special needs. How can the critical care nurse meet the needs of both the family and the patient? What teaching materials can the experienced nurse, clinical nurse specialist, or nurse educator develop to make teaching efficient and effective?
