Summary

Newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients aged 65 or less should undergo staging and human lymphocyte antigen (HLA) typing. Early consideration for bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is recommended for eligible patients, with donor searches initiated for those without matches.
