Histologic comparative study on the relationships between dendrites and blood vessels in the central nervous system

Histologic relationships between nerve cells and brain vessels have not been thoroughly studied yet. Golgi, in 1903, admitted the existence of specific linkage between brain dendrites and capillaries. We tried to discover the sites of dendro-vascular rapports and to compare their histology in rodents and lower vertebrates. The Golgi method and a histochemical method for ATPase (Wachstein and Meisel, 1957; Barka and Anderson, 1963) were used.
